Responsible for obtaining, reviewing for compliance and coding by the most recent guidelines all hospital (inpatient, outpatient and ASC) procedures, tests and evaluation and management services for the departments assigned. Position is Remote with some in person attendance required.
Must be fluent and able to conduct business in English which includes reading, writing and speakingEDUCATION: High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED, or equivalent training or experience required. Approved AAPC and/or AHIMA certifications: Certified Professional Coder- CPC and/or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician- CCS-P. EXPERIENCE: Certified Professional Coder through AAPC and /or AHIMA. Minimum of one year experience in coding professional services or internal USF Health externship with documentation of applicant’s ability to abstract surgical procedures with 90% accuracy.SKILLS: Proficient in ICD10CM, CPT and HCPCS coding, policy and procedures based on physician practices. Knowledgeable with Medicare Billing and Coding guidelines and other official coding resources. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and manage provider medical record reviews and projects, as well as work independently with little or no supervision. Ability to provide excellent customer service. Excellent computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office and generating reports. Travel and flexible time schedule is required. Communicates professionally, timely, and effectively with USFPG leadership, providers, and clinical staff. * Requirements reflect the minimum level necessary to be eligible for this position.
