Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To ensure each store has appropriate levels of roasted coffee according to Spinelli Pte Ltd (the “Company”) coffee standards; to fulfill all store-level needs as well as the local wholesale the store supports and/or other ancillary needs of the overall business.
- Responsible for training staffs on proper production operations, including roasting, stamping, heat sealing, weighing and shipping.
- Responsible for roasting high quality coffee beans to meet the demand of the business.
- Setting, implementing and monitoring all roast profiles, overseeing the maintenance of coffee roasting equipment and working with the General Manager (GM) to develop proprietary coffee blends.
- You should be passionate about coffee, have a depth of knowledge about roasting and be engaged in all aspects of coffee, including roasting, sourcing, sustainability, quality, specialty, commercial coffee, and post-roast production.
- You will be responsible for tracking and maintaining inventory levels of both raw and roasted coffee as well as utilizing the Roasting staff to accomplish all roasting needs.
- You will manage the Roasting Schedule and work directly with the GM to ensure the Roasting Schedule is adhered to and updated with any changes.
- Maintaining proper temperature by observing the roaster thermometer and adjusting controls properly.
- You will place coffee orders to Store Support for weekly deliveries.
- You are expected to serve as a resource for all coffee questions from customers, serving as an in-house expert. To exemplify customer service even when not directly involved in retail operations.
- All rules & regulations are strictly adhered within the company including internal policy, essential food, health and safety as well as hygiene regulations.
- The coffee roaster is also responsible for ensuring coffee quality, scheduling completion, estimating roasting time by observing the color of the roasting beans in the oven, making sure blends are done correctly and coffee is sent to the correct package areas/locations.
- Responsible for roasting samples and hosting cupping’s related to the raw coffee buying program.
- Responsible for engaging in and carrying out roasting experiments.
- Must also ensure the safety of persons around the roaster area and observe and manage emergency situations.
- To assist the General Managers operate the roast bar, with goals to reduce production costs, improve inventory accuracy and predictability, improve roast profiles, and achieve maximum consistency across roasts.
- Reporting to the General Manager (GM), the coffee roaster will also work with the Coffee Quality Controller and other Baristas to ensure the coffee quality is up to Spinelli Pte Ltd (the “Company”) standards as well as implementing new products into the process.
- Manage daily operation and supervise a small team of drivers for local delivery

- Min 2-3 years experience in similar role
