Davis Hospital and Medical Center opened in 1976 and has been providing high-quality healthcare in Layton for over 30 years now. Before the hospital w! as built, residents of Davis County had to travel to Ogden or Salt Lake City for hospital services. With Davis, local residents have convenient access to expert medical services close by and always available.

Since opening, Davis has grown, right along with the community. As the hospital added services and upgraded its facilities, it kept pace with the increasing healthcare needs of this growing area. Currently, the hospital is constructing a three-story tower addition. The $36.2 million expansion includes 67 additional beds, a brand new 14-bed Intensive Care Unit, a Women's Surgical Services Unit, and expanded pediatric, medical/surgical and other inpatient services. The expansion will include a conversion of semi-private hospital rooms to private suites. Completion of the beautiful tower addition is scheduled for spring of 2009.

Crisis Worker

The Crisis Worker provides assessments, interventions, and discharge planning/placements according to the patient's individual needs. The Crisis Worker must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the patient and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. The individual must be able to respect diversity of the individual's values, culture, spiritual beliefs, and other socio-economic issues in addressing the needs of the clients and the client's support system. Collaborates and communicates effectively with clients, families, medical providers, nursing staff, and community resources. Maintains and! participates in hospital and department performance improvement activities.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Social Work.
One (1) year experience in Mental Health and Chemical Dependency field.
Current LCSW in the State of Utah
Current BLS (CPR) must be issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider, CPI and ACLS Certifications.
