Description: Intermountain Home Care is currently seeking to employ Continuing Medical Education (CME) & Workshop Conference Coordinator - Primary Children's Hospital right now, this career will be ordered in Utah. This position oversees and! coordinates the planning, budgeting, organization, implementation, and evaluation of CME/CNE activities for a portfolio of pediatric education activities directed at physicians and other healthcare professionals. This involves setting up continuing pediatric education programs for hospitals within the Intermountain Healthcare system, other hospitals and groups throughout the Intermountain West and the development of conferences and other activities, which may have local, regional, or national audiences.

Job Essentials:
1. Develops CME/CNE programs with strict adherence to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Criteria and the Utah Nurses Association/American Nurses Credentialing Center (UNA/ANCC), using knowledge of ACCME& UNA/ANCC standards in order to maintain accreditation and provide direction to physician and nursing course directors and planning committees.

2. Participate and coordinate strategic planning meet! ings in conjunction with Intermountain Healthcare and Universi! ty of Utah Department of Pediatrics corporate committees, using knowledge of budget and educational design to facilitate development of cost effective pediatric educational programs.

3. Responsible for all facets of events within specified CME/CNE educational event portfolio. This includes preparation (through participation in planning, application, completion, program coordination, budget development, faculty coordination and travel arrangements, etc.) and on-site management of operational conference tasks. Some of these duties may be delegated but the CME/CNE coordinator retains overall responsibility.

4. May evaluate CME/CNE activities and assist Director in making notices of commendation or recommendations for improvement.

5. May assist with the creation and implementation of CME/CNE related policies, procedures, processes and program documentation.

6. May attend professional and developmental meetings relating to accreditation.
7. May pursue small anount of grant and exhibit requests to major pharmaceutical and medical device companies to defray costs associated with accredited educational activities in accordance with accreditation and Intermountain policies.

Entry Rate: $19.48

Shift Details: Monday thru Friday with occasional events on weekends.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree required or an Associate's degree with two or more years of recent full time employment in a CME related job. Intermountain verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.

Two or more years of work experience with responsibility for developing, coordinating, and implementing large-scale events, programs, or activities

Prior experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail applications
Ability to travel in order to attend conferences, sometimes worki! ng long hours and some weekends

Bachelor's degree in an education or healthcare field obtained through an accredited institution

Experience working in health care education

Experience working with continuing medical education (CME), Nursing Experience (CNE), UNA experience, and knowledge of ACCME accreditation standards

Typing skills of at least 65 WPM (words per minute)

Experience in Health Care Education

Able to work in a highly paced dynamic environment.

Daily commute between two campus to meet with stake holders.

Experience in event planning, communications or business is helpful.

High level of ownership for project portfolio.

Requires ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
