PIETRO PLACE — OUT THERE SOMEWHERE…
Peter Jones first started traveling while attending university in England. He found travel energizing—seeing new places and meeting new people allowed him to understand his own life differently. This passion for travel led him to work as a tour manager for an educational travel company. Peter spent two summers leading American students throughout Europe—showing them new places, introducing them to new people, and sharing his love for travel. After working for an educational travel company in the U.S. for a few years, Peter became determined to establish the premier educational travel company in the industry. In 1978, he founded ACIS, the American Council for International Studies, with a few colleagues, who all believe that travel changes lives.
Knowing the important difference between a trip that’s mediocre and one that’s extraordinary, he built ACIS from a deep belief and understanding that ACIS group leaders and participants deserve the best—from itinerary development to hotels to, perhaps most importantly, the people hired to guide teachers and students throughout the journey.

The Role
We are looking for a part-time Social Media and Digital Content Manager to help build our presence across platforms (Blog, Instagram, Facebook, and potentially help us create a TikTok presence). As a Social Media and Digital Content Manager at Pietro Place, you will help execute Peter’s digital content on Instagram, Facebook, and blog posts and help create the vision for expansion of followers and engagement.
What You’ll Do
- Assist Peter by collecting his imagery and videos and planning and executing his vision and overall content concept, and creating Instagram (grid posts, reels, stories) and Facebook posts. This will include ensuring the proper Instagram dimensions for grid posts, reels, and stories) and Facebook and writing concise and engaging captions to inspire the community.
- Create and source travel content (Unsplash, Pexels, and other free stock images and videos) to post on Instagram and Facebook to supplement Peter’s content. For example, if Peter wishes to communicate a trip to Rome, you will help create Instagram and Facebook posts using Peter’s imagery and videos for a select number of posts and also post images and videos about Rome/Italy utilizing sourced travel content.
- Provide ongoing social media support.
- Maintain a monthly social media calendar based on objectives and strategies.
- Engage with Pietro Place’s social community.
- Help evolve the Pietro Place brand both visually and vocally and create strong emotional connections with our community.
- Quickly come up to speed with Peter’s vision and Pietro Place’s established tone, voice, and brand identity, and seek new ways to continuously stay relevant to help push Pietro Place forward.
- Filter all content and copy through our “brand principles,” ensuring that everything we do is focused on Pietro Place’s mission, aesthetic, and voice.
- Another important aspect of the role is the planning and execution of blog posts for Pietro Place. You will support Peter with generating, researching, and pitching ideas for blog posts. You will also assist Peter with writing, editing, and publishing content.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience with social media (Instagram/Facebook/TikTok).
- You are sharp, enthusiastic, witty, and can think outside the box.
- You have a passion for storytelling and content creation.
- You are a creative thinker that brings innovative ideas.
- You are an active social media user (Instagram is a must) and are plugged into pop culture and general trends. A love for travel is a plus!
- Must be a team player and a strong communicator.
- Attention to detail (including grammar, formatting, and design).
- An independent self-starter who can prioritize and drive projects forward with minimal guidance.
- An excellent multitasker.
- A great sense of humor is also a plus! ;)
