Under the direction of the Senior Director of Development of the Williams Institute, the Associate Director of Events and Development will support development and events for related initiatives for UCLA School of Law's Williams Institute (50%), Public Interest Programs (25%), and Center on Reproductive Health, Law, and Policy (25%).
The Associate Director will be responsible for working in tandem with the Senior Director of Development on the execution of strategic high-quality programs, including events, sponsorship solicitations, fundraising goals, donor solicitation and stewardship, management of volunteer leaders and host committees, general vendor and third-party logistics, database management, general development operations and staff management. The Associate Director will work in collaboration with members of other UCLA teams like Budget and Finance, External Affairs, and UCLA School of Law staff. The candidate must possess a high level of judgement in developing ambitious and mission aligned programs ? and be a self-motivated and team-oriented leader that can work with various stakeholders to see events through start to finish ultimately leading to achieving fundraising and friend-raising goals.

Minimum of five-seven years of progressive responsibility and experience with the overall production of events, including events involving one thousand or more guests.

Minimum of five-seven years of progressive responsibility and experience as a professional development officer and/or prior professional experience in a related field such as sales, marketing or business development.

Minimum of five years of experience with online event and/or video production.
Required
Minimum of ten years of experience with support of, or fundraising for public interest organizations in Los Angeles, including those focused on reproductive rights, LGBTQ communities, and/or people living with HIV/AIDS.

Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work with the donors, alumni, students, administrators, and colleagues. Skill in interacting diplomatically and discretely with the public in a public contact setting.

Excellent written communication skills; knowledge of proper punctuation, spelling, sentence construction, paragraph construction, and correct grammar in order to compose and edit solicitations, business correspondence, and respond to donor inquiries. High level of attention to detail required.
