Description
Timpanogos Regional Hospital is a 122-bed facility with 7 operating rooms. The scope of surgical ser! vices includes Open Heart, Robotics, Urology, Ortho/Neuro, General Surgery and C-sections, performed with the latest, most state of the art equipment. Other major services include Cardiac Cath, EP, Adult Intensive Care, Pediatrics and a Level III NICU. We are a Chest Pain Accredited facility along with Stroke Center of Excellence and a Level 4 Trauma Department.
The ideal candidate will have experience running all aspects of a successful Surgical Services department at a management level; Masters Education is preferred or equivalent experience; licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah (may be obtained through compact states); must have a desire to be very "hands-on" with current competencies, skills and ability to train and back-up staff as needed.
This position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer with accountabilities to the Surgical Steering Committee. The position also supervises nearly 60 employees from Registered Nurse! s to Scrub Technicians and others.
Requirements
C! urrent RN License in the state of Utah
Bachelors in Nursing required; Masters preferred
Must have demonstrated leadership skills to manage an 5+ room surgical suite
Responsible for all process improvements within the OR and other assigned departments
Must have experience managing 55+ employees
AORN standards
Must be able to create a team atmosphere and accountability within the department.
Able to make appropriate decision related to staffing, schedules and accountability.
Must be able to address physician concerns appropriately.
Will be responsible to help grow the surgical business.
