The primary function of the Famly/Child Psychiatric Nurse Practit! ioner at Primary Children's Wasatch Canyons is to provide extraordinary care by evaluating and treating patients presenting with psychiatric illness in the Outpatient Setting . The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will assist with the diagnosis of mental health and substance abuse problems. They will provide treatment and medication management for patients with mental health conditions.

The Psychiatric Nurse practitioner will also have the opportunity to be involved in new program development areas to include community work such as consultation to primary care physicians. Through this involvement the incumbent would play an integral role in the development and sustenance of the Mental Health Integration (MHI) program, an internationally recognized program of Intermountain Healthcare. As a part of the MHI team, the NP will also be actively engaged with other MHI team members (care managers, social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists). The Psychiatric Nurse Practi! tioner is a vital part of the MHI team and practices collabora! tively with primary care physicians in an effort to improve quality of life for patients and their families, increase patient satisfaction, reduce practice burden, decrease costs to the system, and engage community resources.

This Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position will specifically treat children and adolescents at Primary Children's Medical Center's Wasatch Canyons Outpatient Center for Counseling located in Taylorsville, Utah.

Primary Children's at Wasatch Canyons offers a wide continuum of care to provide for the individual needs of patients with mental health and chemical dependency problems. The continuum of care allows clinicians to prescribe treatment within an integrated system and provides for excellent continuity of care to meet patients' and families' individual needs. Minimum Requirements

Current Utah APRN licensure with Family Psychiatric Specialty or CNS with ANCC Child/Adolescent psych! iatric and mental health certification.

Eligible for Utah stat! e Controlled Substance License II through V

Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V
