The Neu! roscience Trauma Unit (NTU) at Primary Childrenâs Medical Center is a 28 bed specialty unit treating children ranging from 12 months to 18 yrs. of age.
The NTU is a unit that fosters learning and growth, as children from a wide range of diagnoses are cared for. This includes children who have head injuries requiring acute and rehabilitative care, brain and spinal tumors, seizures disorders, specialized orthopedic surgeries, hydrocephalus, as well as children who have had traumas ranging anywhere from simple broken bones to multi-system involvement.
The Pediatric Patient Care Tech (PCT) on the Neuroscience Trauma unit is a vital part of the patient care team providing care and comfort to patients and families under the direction of the nursing staff. As part of this team, the PCT develops ongoing relationships with children and families as they progress from acute injury and illness through the rehabilitative process or struggle with chronic illness. Beca! use of this, the PCT becomes a key player in the healing proce! ss and participates in the excitement and journey of recovery. We specialize in taking a child and family from illness and injury to wellness and healing.
In this position you will utilize and develop your clinical skills to ensure a positive patient experience. Your valuable skills will be utilized by taking patient vital signs, preparing patient rooms for admission, preparing patients for procedures and transporting them within the facility. In this role, you will be providing excellent care to a more acute patient population
This position will require flexibility in scheduling. The PCT works 12/hr shifts from 6 am to 6 pm or 6 pm to 6 am. These are rotating shifts, which include a combination of day and night shifts, as well as weekends and holidays.
This is a Full-Time, benefits eligible position, working 36hrs/wk.
Minimum Requirements
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Certification OR current enrollment in an accredited nursin! g school with successful completion of first clinical rotation
This position requires verifiable current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification. An original card must be verified prior to start date or the job offer will be withdrawn. For additional information regarding CPR requirements please visit our Job Requirements Page .
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Physical Requirements
Carrying, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pushing/Pulling, Seeing, Speaking, Standing, and Walking
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) experience or applicable healthcare experience
Acute hospital CNA work experience.
Pediatric CNA experience.
Current enrollment in nursing school
Basic computer skills
