The Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Utah is recruiting for a Pediatric Intensivist, including an Intensivist with special training in cardiac intensive care. Clinical responsibilities will center on the Cardiac Intensi ve Care Unit (CICU) and/or the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Primary Childrenâs Hospital (PCH). Clinical time may also be performed at outlying facilities in the region and care rendered via telemedicine. In addition to clinical service, there is an expectation for academic work, including education, investigation, administration/service, as well as advocacy.
The CICU is a 16-bed unit and the PICU is a 28-bed unit. There are over 600 CICU and 2,000 PICU admissions annually. The units are staffed with BC critical care pediatricians. The clinical services provided span all modalities of life-sustaining therapy, including mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring and support, post-operative cardiac and neurosurgical care, trauma management, continuous renal replacement therapy and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
Qualified candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. degree, be Board Qualified/Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. To work in the CICU, the Intensivist must have special training in cardiac intensive care or pediatric cardiology. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
