Job Summary

Clinical nurse in the Dept. of OB/ GYN , in the General Division. Work in the office cooperatively with 6 physicians, 1 RN, 2 CNM’s, 1 NP, 1 MA and support staff. The nurse will assist the staff and MA in triaging patient calls & paperwork in an office setting, to support a busy hospital based practice. Must have women’s health experience, preferrably L & D, or in OB/ GYN office. Responsibilities

Respond to staff & patient inquiries, medical questions via phone, EPIC , messaging and/or email & implement a plan of care as outlined by physicians. Contact patients regarding test/lab results, triage patient calls & communicate with support staff, MA and secretaries. Issued to be triaged include but not limited to: well women care/annual exams, gynecologic problems, routine prenatal care & testings, prescriptions, family planning, etc. Interpret appropriate lab tests, diagnostic imaging and other procedures. Obtain updates & patient medical histories, manage & treat uncomplicated diagnoses, & complete various paperwork for patients & physicians.

Minimum Qualifications

Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah or equivalency required. *If licensed in a compact state a Utah State license must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card or must obtain one within one month of hire required.

Strong organizational and leadership skills as well as demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.

Some positions may require additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ), Pediatric Advanced Life Support ( PALS ), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program ( NRP ) within one year of hire.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

Three plus years experience as a nurse with working knowledge of women’s health and /or Obstetrics & Gynecology or women’s health clinic environment. Must be able to work independently as well as cooperatively with staff and other licensed practitioners, and make appropriate decisions regarding excellent patient care. Will confer with General division attending physicians and nurse peers. Must be willing to work at least at least 20-25 hours per week in the office, be professional and reliable
